None of it could be traced to a published study. The companies were unnamed, the percentages had no source, and the OECD attribution led nowhere. It has all been removed rather than restated more vaguely. This site is worth reading only if the numbers in it are checkable.

Strip out the invented averages and the mechanism is still clear enough to plan around. Digitalization pays off in three specific places, and you can estimate each one for your own business without anybody’s benchmark:

  • Eliminated re-keying. Count the hours per week someone spends typing data from one system into another. That number is your ceiling for automation savings, and it is usually the largest single win.
